Here's a list of questions I get often.
If your question isn't covered here, feel free to reach me at kelvin@crucible35.com
I provide end-to-end audiovisual solutions: strategy, creative direction, ideation, pre-production, shooting, post-production, and copywriting.
If you're looking for user-generated content, I also coordinate UGC production.
Pricing is tailored to each project, and unfortunately there's no one-size-fits-all. Some projects might require a holistic content strategy & production scope, while others consist of a single day shoot as a camera operator. However, we can discuss how to work within your budget. Consultations are free, and once I know more about your project, I can share a detailed proposal with costs.
Too many to list. From small local business such as London's Diesel Gym to Singapore's LAIBA Beverages (now Signature Cocktails Co). However, the most notable brands I have shot for are Garnier UK, Diageo and Little Moons - all during my tenure at Founders Makers.
I have a proven track record in crafting video content that meets KPIs across industries, markets, and channels. See SOCIAL CONTENT for organic performance, and ADS & E-COMMERCE for paid media stats.
Data-driven & KPI-oriented ideation mixed with a daredevil approach. Social listening tools plus experience. I devised my Disruptive Legitimacy Framework to create authentic content and help brands achieve Feed Cred. Learn more in my TIKTOK STRATEGY page, where I talk about my work for Garnier UK.
You most certainly can. However, an external specialist like myself can bring a fresh perspective, streamlined professional workflows, and insights that expand beyond your niche. I focus on delivering impactful, data-driven video solutions without the overhead of a full-time hire. You get to keep creative control, while benefitting from my unique approaches. If you do decide to shoot content in-house, I can still help - by providing frameworks for content strategy and creative direction.
I'm a firm believer in letting one's work speak for itself.
There's far too many creative agencies and professionals promoting themselves with nebulous USPs written by chatGPT. Everyone has cutting-edge-social-savvy-faster-than-the-competition-guaranteed viral video pipelines.
I have little interest in that salesperson game. Watch my work. Read my case studies. If I'm the right partner for you, then you'll know. If not, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I work fast, but don't rush. Timelines vary by project scope, strategy, pre-production needs, etc. The process could take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the number and complexity of final deliverables. The best way to determine a timeline is to book a consultation.
It depends on the project. For larger projects, I rent kit.
For most shoots, I use my own Sony FX3 - and like any FX3 owner, I'm legally required to mention that Greig Fraser shot "The Creator" with one.
If it's good enough for the DOP of "Dune" and "The Batman," it's more than enough for 99% of projects, and we can skip the equipment rental costs.
As involved as you'd like to be. If you prefer, we can keep your involvement minimal: consultation, proposal, moodboard/concept walkthrough and final deliverable feedback.
Most projects include 2 rounds of feedback, extendable to 3 depending on scope. I prioritise client satisfaction, and if required work outside of business hours to meet expectations and deadlines.
I typically don't deliver unedited footage as it doesn't represent the quality of my final work. This is an industry standard. However, it can be provided at a small additional cost.
Of course. I am fully insured and have a public liability cover up to £5m.
Absolutely. Collaborating with your content strategy team allows me to learn more about your brand and create the best possible work.
I've tried a few, and my favourite is by far Twirl. Their staff is incredibly helpful, and some of them are creators themselves. You can use them directly, but I have experience collaborating with their team and can make the process even smoother.
I do. You can see some of my product photography on ADS & E-COMMERCE.
But I'd rather recommend you a specialist: the incredible Kelly Hill - the most talented photographer I know.
I do. But if your project has a design-first focus, I'd recommend James Hansell - a master of the craft. There is literally nothing he can't do.
I specialise in online platforms, small crews and a fast-paced guerrila production approach. For large TVC projects, I recommend Colin Sims-O'Grady, a remarkable Creative Producer at Hypemaker.
Yes, with a solid offer, I'm more than happy to do in-house work. It can give me a more complete perspective of your brand and helps me stay sharp.
No. "CRUCIBLE35 Productions" is the trading name of Kelvin Pires (me). My portfolio covers work created as solo trader and agency team member.
I get this one a lot. A crucible is a melting pot for metals. Success as a modern creative requires versatility. CRUCIBLE35 melds together disruptive strategies, technical savviness and a great sense of humour. The 35 comes from 35mm film, as I'm both a camera geek and cinephile.
It's also just a really cool name.
